Maleno Employee Retires After 21 Years of Service

Inside the entrance to the Maleno corporate offices at Vista Bella plaza, administrative assistant Kathy Nagare has been there to greet visitors, with warmth and a smile, and direct calls coming through the main phone line.

Kathy’s career with Maleno began in 1979 as the administrative assistant to founder John Maleno.  In addition to helping greet visitors, Kathy's responsibilities included payroll, accounts payables, accounts receivables and many other duties.  Kathy also became an honorary member of the Maleno family, watching as John’s and Lynn Emerick Maleno’s children and grandchildren grew to become involved in the company or to go off toward other pursuits.

After 21 years of dedicated service to Maleno, Kathy has set her sights on a well-deserved retirement and spending more time with her family in the Erie area and Florida.

Vendors, customers, and employees will all miss Kathy’s dedication to superior customer service and her in-depth knowledge of the business.  “Kathy has been an integral and valuable member of Maleno,” commented John Maleno.  “It’s hard to imagine her not being here every day; but Kathy deserves to relax and enjoy life!”

Kathy was honored with an employee retirement party on Friday, January 31st at the U Pick Six Public House on W. Ridge Rd in Erie, Pennsylvania.  She was joined by the Maleno family, co-workers, and several family members.

Everyone will miss Kathy, and will never forget her contributions to the company.
