Maleno Wins 2023 BANWPA Awards of Excellence

On Saturday, January 21, 2023, Maleno was honored with three Awards of Excellence from the Builders Association of Northwest Pennsylvania (BANWPA). With over one hundred Association members in attendance, local builders and remodelers were celebrated by their peers for outstanding projects, design excellence and creativity. BANWPA, founded in 1945, has been dedicated to promoting quality craftsmanship for nearly 80 years. They present Awards of Excellence annually to members within the association.

This year, Maleno won for 2022 New Construction designs in the $2+ Million category, $500,000 - $550,000 category, and $350,000 - $400,000 category. On hand with Kevin Clark, Construction Manager, were homeowners, Jim & Shawn Deakin whose Portland, NY home won the $2+ Million category. Their custom home encompasses a 6,000+ sq. ft. structure, with a finished basement totaling 8,620 sq. ft. of living space. A Tuscany style mansion with Old World elements, it include awe-inspiring architectural details in abundance from the port cohere to the Clark Hall iron entry doors to the 19' Buffalo Architecture plastered fireplace in the Grand Room and more.

Maleno's Marcella design, Harborcreek home, located in Harbor Woods at Six Mile Creek, took the win in the $350,000 - $400,000 category. The white board & batten siding, black Harvey windows, and stunning modern doors captivated the judges from the start. Attention to detail was clearly evident throughout this 2,301 sq. ft.

Rounding out the win in the $500,000 - $550,000 category was a Fairview home located in Brandy Run Estates. This Maleno Emerald design home blended open, yet cozy, with modern yet rustic. Mixing traditional with farmhouse, the design includes an upstairs open crosswalk and dramatic open staircase, along with a "never want to leave it" first floor primary suite with epicurean walk-in shower.
