Do you offer rent-to-own properties in Erie?

We do not offer rent-to-own properties. All of our properties are owned and managed by Maleno.

Are your rental properties renovated?

We believe in investing in our rental properties to ensure a comfortable and luxurious living experience. Many of our rental units are newer, like Shadow Pines. We are currently renovating our Scenery Hills and Lake View Apartments with new cabinetry, granite countertops, updated bathrooms, and stainless steel appliances.

Do you accept Section 8 vouchers?

No, we do not accept Section 8 vouchers.

What are your rental application requirements?

When applying for a rental property through Maleno, your monthly gross income must be at least equal to 30% of the monthly rental rate. We will conduct a background check including credit, criminal, employment, and residency verification.

How long does the rental application process take?

The rental application process takes between 1-7 days. We encourage customers to notify their employer and current landlord that we’ll be contacting them and ask them to respond quickly.

What am I responsible for maintaining in my rental home?

Residents agree to take good care of the rental unit, keeping it and the appliances clean and trash-free. The details are spelled out within the Lease document.

Do I need renter's insurance?

 We require our residents to carry $100,000 of liability coverage. You can do so with a Renter's Insurance policy that will also cover your belongings or you can choose to simply carry Liability to Landlord coverage.

Who is responsible for utilities?

When renting a property through Maleno, we are responsible for the water, sewer, and trash. Residents are responsible for gas and electric.

Do you accept credit cards for rent?

Residents are able to pay their rent online-only via credit card.

What changes can I make to my rental home?

Our rental units have been designed with comfort and safety in mind. Talk with the Property Manager about any requested changes.
